Yard work

The beautiful amaryllis last week. Just starting to bloom

This week

And a bonus white one that HAS to be a dad flower he gave me as a start 😀 ❤️❤️

The pergola greens got a much needed haircut and I didn’t even question if it was too much or the right strands. I just started chopping. I think it’s happy with its new start this spring.

My irises have the starts of buds. No flowers yet but I need to remember to keep an eye out for them.

More amaryllis that came from dollar tree if I’m not mistaken. Coming up well ;

Last week the weeds…

Well I just didn’t have the heart to rip out the Mari b grounds of the ladybugs :) that and the bumbles were happily buzzing around the flowers.

The OTHER Iris. Not doing as well :(

Look WAY out there….

Close up a suet squirrel feeder I picked up last year and just now put out!!

And over here…

Woven bird nest. I’m a little slow so I’m not sure if anyone will build in it, but it’s out there now!!

As of TODAY I got a wild hair and did this:
Before with LOTS of wild sweet pea.

After. Wild sweet pea all removed…. Took a lunch hour but it’s done. On one side at least. I’ll work the other side tomorrow. And get something for those pots!!

Happy Easter

Cal in the tiniest sun puddle!

The void. Aka Salem :)

Enjoying the veggie tray and fruit while we cook a zucchini roll. Why?  Because I saw it on line and shared with the girls who said “oh, let’s make that for Easter”. Ok. So we did. We were supposed to use ricottas cheese and su dried tomatoes. We decided we wanted ham and sun dried tomato with whipped cream cheese instead.  It was good but we came up with alternative ingredients for inside as we ate!

I also brough mimosa ingredients. It was all very tasty!!

The girls got baskets (they sent memes of “my mom said she doesn’t love me” mom states “that’s not what I said, I said you’re too old for an Easter basket” and the girls says “same thing!!”). So I heard them. They wanted a basket. What was in the packet?  A Lindt chocolate bunny, a card with $20 and three carrots with the tops ;) because I could ;)

AND cupcakes. Yummy!!

We chose alternative ways to wear the rings. Hahaha!

We played push the dummy and had a great afternoon before Angela had to go to work and Butch and I headed home to have a nap ;)

Booth update and yard work

Yes that is a very faded bird BUT the key is almost 5” of rain in a day. That was from March 9th. It continues to be a rainy spring

Yes that splash of red is an amaryllis ;)

Got off my duff and helped Butch trim this mess. Nogg to sure if any is still wisteria in this side. I think it’s mostly the volunteer grapes. We shall see after it buds out.

Pulled out all the wild sweet pea. Well, Butch weeded them out with the weed eater and I got in there to dig around. Found a lot of dead elephant ears :(. I need to do more. Transplant the daffodils to the wall so I can see them in the spring. Etc etc etc. BUT I go out and play all weekend and do water aerobics 3X a week and one night with family dinner. Soooo not a lot of free time.

Rainy drizzly day BUT we got a few things done before the rain.

On the road over the weekend wisteria AND cherry blossoms on the road - so pretty!!

And. I had pulled these ears from the back to give away but no one local spoke up. They were in a garbage bag in the garage for weeks. And they were sprouting this far!! So, in the ground they went. I bought a nice auger tool for a drill and zipped them right into the ground yesterday after running around all weekend.

Saturday was estate sales with Barbara all day and Sunday was bookshelf pickup in Macon with Liz and then redoing the booth with said new shelves. It looks nice.

So creepy thing. We picked up the shelves from a gal in an abandoned house that was her father’s. We moved the first case outside and u helped lift it into the back of the truck. There were spider webs on my hands that I shook off only to look on the bottom and see this 2 or 3” BLACK  spider. Eeekkkkk

This is what we think it was. It got smooshed REAL quick after I knocked it off the bottom of the shelf. Yikes. We do not ask questions. We smoosh!!  I have found I’m very flexible as I smashed it ON the tailgate while standing in the ground. Ha!  Desperate time = desperate measures. Hahahah

Funnies from sales

The things we do. This was the FIRST sale. Oops!!  Those are two Balsam Hill flip trees for Liz. Crazy!!

Yes we went to THREE more sales after this and crammed of all in!  LOL!

My GPS cracked me up. The cross street sounded like “Gaw-wan” with the turn being “Hawg”   LOL. Yes I was “going hog” said with a THICK southern accent. Hahaha!!

And a cow in this persons lawn. It’s a statue and their mailbox was cow print as well. Think they like cows?  LOL

My week in Utah (and update to Little house carpets)

It was a fun whirlwind week. I wore mom out daily!!

For some reason I thought I had blogged about this long ago however it must have been when I blogged Linda and Mom coming out to see us. Oops!

I went out in Presidents’ Day weekend and stayed the week. It was nice to not have to rush around cramming everything into two days.

We went to breakfast, we shopped the thrift shops, we visited, played games and enjoyed our time.

We also went to Saratoga Srings

We were able to met up with Aunt Tuny, Sandi and Suzie AND as a bonus we also got to see Nick, Kaylee and their kids Rachel, Logan, Jane and Emily. Cute well behaved kids. Robert was also able to join I on dinner. We stayed in a hotel in Thanksgiving Point so that we didn’t have to rush THAT visit either. So much fun to see everyone!!

We played games and visited at Sandi’s house. She’s such a gracious host!

Playing games.. before the parents decided they didn’t want to play

Sisterly love!

Cousins!!

Proof that we went to IHOP at least once :)

We also took a drive to cedar breaks up to the snow

Proof we were both there. Mom didn’t get out but I needed that view to be clear and not through a window :)

We also went to the movies (rare treat for me) AND I got us the recliner seats. Very comfortable!  We saw Ordinary Angels. You know the outcome however watching it was good. It entertained.

And with that the week was over and I was flying home again.

While I was in Utah. Butch was working g in the little house in Florida.
This rug was a huge point of contention for weeks.. he did NOT want to take it to Florida because it wan't the best carpet in the world.  It was an estates sale rug and was only $30.  I knew it had issues however it had lots more than I thought. The edges were horrible with a few stains and/or burn marks that were not removable.  BUT this rug was slated for the Master... it wouldn't fit.  Literally would NOT fit in the room.  Sigh.  So, Butch made the executive decision to put it in this room... and it worked wonderfully - AND all issues are hidden under couches  - bonus!!
It looks surprisingly good in this room - which I didn't anticipate.

The living room rug went into the master - which, again, worked out very well as it was a better size for that room.
Who knew that these all say they are 9'x13' and yet they are distinctly different sizes in reality.  The blue would not fit fully in the kitchen like the coral rug would.  So, the coral is NOT a 9'x13' rug... but it works for the next room
I really LOVE this rug - it's a thick wool rug and is lovely underfoot.  I would love to have it our house, but it purchased it at a sale for the little house - for a whopping $20.  Yep $20 - plus a cleaning fee.  The cleaning fee was actually used to clean ALL area rugs in the Georgia house, so it all worked out well as it was $100 to clean them all... so we'll consider that a wash for the cost to clean... The blue I did myself with my cleaner - mostly because I couldn't lay it out anywhere for someone else to clean it.

The comforter isn't the best match, but honestly we were in a pinch to get these quickly to get the house on the market with the new rental company... so I picked cheap and functional in colors that I wanted.  It's now to time to go to TJ Maxx and HomeGoods on occasions to look for alternatives for these... I don't mind the ones in the bunk room, but honestly I'm about ready to pull out the bunks and put two twins in there as the bunks are probably not long for this world.  BUT that is for the future... I've done all I'm going to do for a while.. for now it will do and it will make some money to pay for insurance and taxes... and that will have to do.
