Driving around....and more odds and ends.

OK, in the distance there is a FUN art installation.  Why do I call this an art installation?  Well, because it's been there since we got here and before... and the item is a LARGE nest. During the night it is lit up with white on the poles and blue on the nest... it was all painted white until recently.  The poles were turned to black and white a few weeks ago... then early last week they updated the poles to black and white... so I drove by an saw a crane putting GOLD EGGS in the nest for easter!  I was soo excited it was silly!  ha!  I have been waiting to get a good picture going into work as that is the time I'm on the right side of the road for a picture... and earlier this week I was going super slow in a traffic jam (Stau) and got the perfect chance!!

 CHECK out the gold eggs!!!  Cute!!!  I'm in love.  Not the black and white poles necessarily, but the gold eggs still make me smile every single morning :)

 Further along on this same drive I took a side road and caught the sun just peeking over the hills of Stuttgart... so pretty... traffic was horrible that morning!!  I was actually late to work - but that's OK, I made up for it later :)

THEN later in the week I was going to pick up some things from the online garage sale site (patience, it's at the bottom)... and was going super slow so took pictures of MORE of the lovely flowers on the side of the road!  LOVE it!!    They are everywhere and I'm a big fan of them :)

 I hope they make you smile as much as I do!  I love seeing them everywhere as they are and always have been my favorite flowers.


Beautiful sunbeams near and far on the ride home... just an overall pretty day!! 

So... what did I buy from the online yard sale?  These lovely curtains.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, the room is still a mess, but I really like the curtains.  they aren't the cream background I thought they were... they are more yellow, but I still like them.  I have SIX panels of this... not sure I need all six... so will probably sell the other two.. or see if they will go well in the guest room or not. 

I'm also tying out some new tension rods in there as well to see if I like the way they work with the doors.  We shall see if I can get the door OPEN with it up.  Time will tell on that one.  Until then I do like the pattern!!

Weekend warriors

This weekend was a day to hang the items we had purchased at Ikea.  This is actually a kitchen item from Ikea... so we have chosen to make it an outdoor kitchen item :)

Part of our goal this weekend was to go to see an electric mower that I had found on the online garage sale site.  It will work just fine so for a fraction of hte cost of a new one, we are now the proud owners of a small electric mower.  Now mind you our yard is so tiny that Butch said he cold mow the yard in 20 minutes or less with that tiny 24" mowing deck - if it's even that!  it's super tiny !

 Just above the little mower is a nice hanger we picked up at Obi (similar to Lowes).  Works well for the tools we have in there.

 AND although not bought this weekend, but on Friday... or was that Thursday night - here are the cube setups we have for the TV stand now!  They didn't have them in wood, just black or white.  I guess black works well enough, yes?

HERE is the next thing to put together.  TWO big heavy boxes that are a wardrobe that needs to be dragged (OK, nicely carried) to the basement to be put together down there... to store all our off season clothing... or here's an idea, we simply clean out our closets and downsize our clothing selection?  hum.. yeah, no.... not going to happen :)
