It all started with a puddle

I noticed there was some water on the floor in the potty room. Uh oh! I put a cup under the water supply and went on with my life thinking I need to tell Butch.

The next day I get a text from Butch



Ha! Mystery solved.

So he purchases the innards for the toilet, replaces it and I mention the fact we have a wobble.

Ok so he tightens it. CRACK!!!!! Yep, toilet base broke big time. One half of the bottom flanges now broken off completely. The good news is that it doesn't leak.

Yikes!! So we order just the bowl portion of the potty on line. Very inexpensive too. $69.00. Ordered and we wait for it to come in. Thank goodness that we have two more toilets.

It comes in while I'm out at a retreat with the girls. I then get a call with a "do you want the good news or the bad news". Yeah, the toilet bowl doesn't match the toilet tank we already have. Sigh. Order the tank on line and discover that it was indeed more expensive to buy it on line. Sigh. Lesson learned oh hubby's part. So we wait again and the tank comes in..and its smaller than the originals and I didn't paint behind the original tank :o\ ha! Yeah, my burgundy wall isn't all painted. Whoops!

Arguments ensue over my unhealthy love of WHITE paint right now. I would love to do white in the room. I would love to do white with wainscoting. Yeah, I'm outvoted. No white in this house. Drat it. So. I rebel and get the matching brown to paint the room one color. No accent wall. By the way after the fact, no one is happy with it to include the oldest. Darn her!!

So we have a newly repainted toilet room and a new toilet with dual flush...and it all started with a puddle. ;)

Storms

On the way back from Uncle Tommy's funeral in Savannah we ran through his big storm. It had already rolled through Warner Robins and dropped 1/2" of rain.





Today this was the storm outlook


This one blew everything around and dropped a little less than 1/4" of rain.

Not one, but two babies :) twins. Cute!!








So cute! Glad I stopped for those babies, they were so tentative crossing the street. Glad they made it safely across before a car came from the opposite way!

I had a great night scrapping and meeting new ladies.





I have to say, of the few scrapping retreats I have been to in Georgia, this is one place I will gladly go back to. The beds are all new and comfy. The scrapping room is more than ample :). It's only a two hour drive away as well.

On the way home I saw a fox as well. I was in a populated area in a ridge running area of the drive. No chance yo take a picture. It ran across the street and I questioned if it was a cat. When I saw it duck between houses, I coked then see it was a grown red fox. Very dark color red.

And it's a wrap...

The stove was installed and I totally spaced getting a picture of it. Der. Oh well, it's just a stove. The plumbing company was GREAT. If you need a plumbing company in the Fort Walton area I HIGHLY recommend Elliot Plumbing. He made a special trip out to light my pilot light when his helper forgot to. He made sure my furnace was self lighting as well just to be safe. All around nice guy and although his helper was forgetful, he was good and cleaned up after himself as he left.

I locked up, hugged Sally and headed out. I swung by TJ Maxx and Tuesday Morning to return curtains that weren't the right colors. Then swung by Rooms To Go to order the love seat as well.

I made a fatal mistake by turning north on 331.



Ugh!! An HOUR to go 30 miles. On the plus side, it was a beautiful day for a drive. ;)

I got home to find my day lilies in bloom and although they're looking a little roughy around the leaves, however appear happy ;)


And two small ripe tomatoes. They say they are cherry ones, but they're bigger than I would expect!

And with that it's time to get comfy and stretch out on my bed and relax.

Hurry up and wait

Cabinets were to be here at noon. Well, they didn't make it. It was closer to 1:45. Yikes.

In the mean time I did a few projects.


I stained the coffee table.


I unpacked my vacuum and tried it out. Works just fine!!

I got a wild hair and started to paint the shelves in the launder room





It's SO dark that the white paint makes a HUGE difference!!

Then we got into a Hateful fight with the >~#^+'£¥*# paint sprayer.


This is my new enemy. I HATE it. It only painted a VERY small area and it was in fits and spurts. Yep it almost made it to the garbage!! It may still make it there...grrrr

So I gave up.


I screened the laundry room window instead. Worked out well ;)





THIS is as far as the blasted sprayer got me. I'll get a different sprayer and tackle this another time. Sigh.



I cleaned the living room floor a few times. I'm on my final mop and glow coat.

And the cabinets came in. It was a little later than expected. They said noon they meant 1:45. Sigh.

Mystery solved in how they attach to the floor. Screws and plates to the floor. He used the grout lines to get it anchored to the floor.

Our little trap door to the gas shutoff. Cute!! This is what I asked for when I ordered the cabinets and they said I would have to go under the drawer and cut a hole. I like this option better as he made it a slide up insert.


On to the front of the cabinets. So nice!!!


And the best thing? Pan pull out and nothing but drawers!!! Well and a garbage. The far cabinet is a microwave cabinet.

Chairs on the wall... Nawh.


There is a tape measure on the wall to measure put the couch. It's 96" which is fine. It will fit just about anywhere.

So after looking at this and sitting there looking at it for a while I have decided that I need a love seat. I think I'll put the couch on the wall and the love seat at the window and the chairs at the far end of the room. That will pull all the colors together, I'm sure.

So tomorrow before I get home I'm going to swing by Rooms to Go and get the matching love seat.

It's only money, right?

A full day's work

What did I do today? Well now that's a loaded question. So let's start. I got up, got dressed and came to Sally's for breakfast (brought sausage). The door was shut and blinds closed so I started to head on back to the house. My timing was perfect. Sally was already up and was just starting coffee so she let me in ;)

After a good breakfast I headed back to my place to do odds and ends stuff while waiting for the bunk bed delivery.


I started with the light fixtures.


The bottom ones have been sprayed with paint remover the top left is not.


This is my NEW love. Really. Awesome stuff. Cut through years of paint in 5 minutes I spent some time scraping and scrubbing and sanding. The original ones were stainless. I would have loved to have left them stainless however there was too much pitting. Sad, really.

While in the laundry I took some pictures of the "filter" the last people put in the window. Weird as the glass was painted and darkened. The screen was filtered for whatever reason however it didn't work as one as the window was painted shut so wouldn't open.

Then @ 9:30am look who showed up!

I then went for a swim with Sally. When I got home to shower I discovered I have NO hot water. Nope, not a drop. Sigh. Good thing it's hot outside and I was OK with the cool shower I got. Ugh. So I tried to figure out how to light the pilot. Yeah, no start. Nothing, Nada. I about lost my sh*t. Standing on my head in a hot laundry room trying to figure out HOW to light a pilot. Nothing. It was 5 minutes to 5pm and the plumbing place who worked on it Monday wasn't open. I wonder now if he shut it off as we haven't showered much this week. Gross, I know, but really three showers were taken in those few days since then. Not long showers and not HOT showers as were hot and sweaty... So not sure when it stopped heating. But really. If he shut the gas off the I'm pretty sure pressure tested the line - why would he shut it back off again? I'm still confused with this one. Thinking that when he shut it off to do the pipe he didn't do anything with the heater or the hot water heater. Wouldn't that mean it was leaking all that time???? Apparently not according to Google.

Ugh!!! Frustrations.

Then I went to Sears to get a range hood. What a joke. They have goods on their sight they don't have anything to do with. They won't install, they just have them on their sight. What the?? Ugh!! So I gave up. I went to Home Depot $900. Not installed. So I gave up for good and we went to dinner!!

Yep Stewby's. Love the place! Fried shrimp. Yum!

After that it was a trip to Walmart to buy eight pillows - yep, you read that right EIGHT pillows. Why eight? Well each bunk has a decorative pillow with sham AND a pillow in a pillow case. So how did I get pillows for the staged pictures? Well, I stood them from. The OTHER two bedrooms decorative shams. ;)

So with 8 pillows I should be back up to snuff on having enough pillows for all the shams and all the beds. Well, with the exception of the sleeper sofa, but we will deal with that later when it's delivered in July.

And a vacuum.

And with that it was drive home and watch some TV with Sally this evening.
