Drywall

You'll have to use your imagination as the pictures are from a different perspective. The originals with the holes are taken from different sides of the room.

No more gaping holes in the wall!!! It's so exciting to see, or rather, not see the hole I. The wall!!

Also no more holes in the ceiling either! Who hooooo!!

It's shaping up to be a nice house...slowly but surely. Next weekend is shoe molding and possibly starting paint in the kitchen. Then a few weeks respite until I get to go down for a week and work on the cabinets and furnishings...it may be a house soon enough ;)

Drywall

GREAT news: Drywall patches are complete and the house is ready to paint.
The bad news: Kid has band rookie camp this weekend and we're not able to go down and paint it just yet. Drat it!

Summer, summer, summer!!

I got a wild hair today to clean the furniture and cushions.

Then it turned into the WHOLE patio.

Putting it back together.

Beautiful.

I did take a few breaks to rest and the girl and a friend swam for a bit too ;)

I have a coozie problem. ;)

Ahhhhh. Organized, cleaned and ready to go for summer!!

Today was yard work day. Cleaning the deck, plant the plants.

The load of plants!!

Before

More before

Again before.

After planting the new verbenas along the "row"

NEW daisies!!

Tomato with some flowers

And the other side.

Two citronella plants that are still not in the ground!!

I didn't do a thing in this bed.

And where Angela and I ended up after a bit of time in the hammock under the umbrella. ;)

Ah what a life!!!

Tile woes...and triumphs

So this is literally the LAST row of tile laid in the living room. That "grout" line is over an inch wide. Sigh. No way to have it look good even with shoe molding. Double sigh.

This is a doorway with no grouting t all. Another sigh. Not the end of the world, but still depressing.

So. Rather than stew and fret and fix it ourselves in all our free time (Insert hysterical laughing at this juncture) I asked for exactly what I wanted. I wanted it fixed. So I let our tile guy know and guess what? He came down and fixed it.

Much better, much better. A repair we didn't want to have to attempt on our own!

Don't worry the baseboard is not installed in this room so we should be fine here. And this is kitchen side and still needs paint.

AND I have a person lined up to do drywall...then I can go back down and arrange the cabinets and gas to the range!! Closer and closer!!

Yard work

Trip south Friday

Saturday morning working hard!!

Day 1

After a few cuts.

Progress.

As clean as its getting.

The work crew. Me, Angie, Butch, Brian. Working hard today!!

Hey ya'll watch this!!

Ok they survived. But still. Crazy boys!!

Working on the poke saw.

Damage :(

This pile is about 30' long 7+' high and a 6' wide

Logs, logs, logs....we left a small pile in the back yard for the fire pit.
And with that angels and I are pure wore out and Butch is beat to heck!

Ttttttiiiimmmmmmbbbbbeeeeerrrrrrr!

If a tree falls when we don't live in town, did it really happen? Yep...it did :(

Dang, that's a LOT of tree in the yard!! Insurance deductible is way too high to think about using it at $2500. Hum, bad choice on our part when we first purchased, eh? Oh well, live and learn. So looks like our next weekend is booked. Sigh. Oh well, we needed to go there anyway.
