Trip south Friday

Saturday morning working hard!!

Day 1

After a few cuts.

Progress.

As clean as its getting.

The work crew. Me, Angie, Butch, Brian. Working hard today!!

Hey ya'll watch this!!

Ok they survived. But still. Crazy boys!!

Working on the poke saw.

Damage :(

This pile is about 30' long 7+' high and a 6' wide

Logs, logs, logs....we left a small pile in the back yard for the fire pit.
And with that angels and I are pure wore out and Butch is beat to heck!

Ttttttiiiimmmmmmbbbbbeeeeerrrrrrr!

If a tree falls when we don't live in town, did it really happen? Yep...it did :(

Dang, that's a LOT of tree in the yard!! Insurance deductible is way too high to think about using it at $2500. Hum, bad choice on our part when we first purchased, eh? Oh well, live and learn. So looks like our next weekend is booked. Sigh. Oh well, we needed to go there anyway.

Tile work - last video from the Tile Man

here is the final pictures from the tile person.

No final pictures - they will come from me when we get down there.  We had planned to go this weekend, but regretfully kids schedules are playing havoc.  Drat it!!

Maybe it's better this way as it's too wet to drag any furniture down there in the truck... so if we wait we may be able to take a washer/dryer and a few odds and ends down there in the truck and empty our poor overflowing garage a bit!

Tile update

Tuesday morning. The kitchen was 98% done. (Looking towards the carport door)

Hall way is looking good (looking towards the front door)

Hallway looking towards the bedrooms.

Living room

Bunk room.

Once the kitchen is grouted we are officially done. Then Butch and I will head on down over the weekend to check it out and drop off odds and ends furniture.

Tile update

As of late Sunday night they had turned the corner and we're making their way into the living room.

As of Monday night the living room is complete.

Comments indicate the back two rooms (master and 2nd) are done to include grout. The bunk room and hall require grout as well as the living room. Their goal is to finish the kitchen Tuesday and grout the other rooms that have been completed.

I guess they will grout the Kitchen Wednesday morning as the tile has to dry for 24 hrs before grout. Unsure what happens if you grout too soon after laying tile.

The good news if it's drying time before weight is put in the tiles, we're good as we're not going to be back in the house for a few more weeks.

Sigh. I really want to go and wrap it up, but as always life gets in the way. Not enough time in the weekend to accomplish enough.

Next up drywall repairs?

Tile update

Back bedroom. Looks good, no more haze. All cleaned up

Bunk room getting ready for grout

Hallway looking really good
It's all coming together!

Gardening in the rain...

I decided to get some mulch for the Iris today ...

All done! Looking good!!

Had enough to get the essentials in a few other beds like around theses new plants on the corner. The decorative garlic is a transplant from Sally and is loving it there!

And of course who can resist flowering annuals while shopping? NOT me. Below them are (centered) a transplant from Virginia that is to be a blood red Iris or Lily. I can't remember which. One of the gals from my old business area (Navy counterpart) gave everyone who wanted any clumps of these plants. This is year two after transplant and it's come up and done well both years but so far no blooms. There are a few bulbs on each side of the right side one that were almost killed in the locker. Hopeful they'll all survive however so far only two have made an appearance.

The daffodils have come and gone and the amaryllis are just now getting blooms on them. And the elephant ear aren't fat behind. I'm thinking of using the foreground for some pea cages this year.
And of course some petunias to add a touch of color on this side as well.

And I need about 10+ more bags of mulch. That was 6 bags and I forgot to take a picture of the bed by the garage as it also got some much needed mulch. As well as by the gate/pool equipment. That area just wasn't "pretty" so I opted to just not show you :)

Grout has begun!

First cleanse on the first guest room. Looking good even with a bit of a haze still showing. I'm thinking this is looking really good!

And the master bedroom as well. Looking GREAT! They're rocking right along!

Progress in the tiny house

Friday's work:

It all started at the end of the hallway.

Level. A little much on the thinset but other than that it's level. ;)

The finished room. I think this is the guest room at the back of the house.

This is prior to cleanup and grouting. Lookin good and hard for me not to jump in the car and run down there to check it all out in person. Sally has been my eyes on the project and says it's VERY pretty in person.

On the Homefront.

The Iris that were transplanted from the front flower bed under the pines are MUCH happier in their new location along the fence. There's a number of blooms ready to pop open. Most are purple, but there's a yellow that will open I. The next few days.

The side flower bed. These are the Iris that were rescued from beside the drive. Again MUCH happier here and getting ready to bloom!!

And the wisteria has decided it's time to bloom as well it's a few weeks behind its wild counterparts around town but looking good!!

The two sides should meet in the middle this year as well

And the yellow bloomed this morning before I thought it would. So pretty!! I really need to put down some more mulch!!

And here is my minimize forest where I dump all my pool tuck into the flowerbed. The seeds sure germinate well after a pool soak apparently. :)
