We had a LOT of false moose calls, however, as I drove past the clearing close to the camp, look what I spotted, then I radioed back to the other car and they confirmed it was a MOOSE! Yeah for moose close to camp. The girls were VERY lucky and saw a mom and her calf walking right in front of their cabin and by the fire pit and on up river... fun stuff!

when talking to folks about what "mountain is that" they will say "it's next to the Harding ice field" yes, everything here is identified by glacier and ice field, not necessarily mountain names.

And where did we go? The Fjord and National wildlife tour. it was a wonderful day leaving out from Seward Alaska - a 10 hour tour, and SO worth it!

This guy is floating out in the bay. Seems there are a few that just 'hang out' near the shore. He looks to be young to me in retrospect of the trip to Homer and Halibut fishing where we would zoom up on mom's out in the open water with babies cuddled to them nursing or just snoozing on mom. Those were about 6' long, this one was maybe 4' or so - so not very old at all.
Do you hear that music? Let's NOT do that pose, there WILL be ice burgs in our future today!

even if you've seen it on TV, nothing prepares you for the sounds and the sights of what the glacier really looks like when you're there. it's so far away, yet HUGE and the cracks resonate throughout the ice. So very impressive.
Linda and Robert Yes, it's COLD - about 10 to 20 degree drop from being on the open ocean - again so impressive to experience this!

yes, this is a whale spout! Towards the end of our journey as we were coming up to Fox Island. They raised red fox on the island and because it was isolated, they let them run free on the island and caught them via feeding stations. There are no more fox on the island now, however it still bears it's history.
We tried to get Angela to come out and join us, but she had given up due to the cold!

Mom and dad didn't like it outside due to the cold temps, so they stayed in and watched it all from the comfort of their warm chairs inside! Well,until I dragged them out for a picture!
Tip of a whale tale at Fox Island. Rumor control is that is MOM and the baby then starts to PLAY in the following shots with a lot of leaps and breaching while mom is feeding in the depths.
