Chocolate and cheese

Doesn’t THAT sound gross?  I decided my final farewell trip should be an MWR (morale welfare and recreation) trip to save me the hassle of driving and planning and overall thinking. AND this is one of the trips I had eyed before Covid shut down all MWR trips.

So Switzerland it is!!  And it’s Gruyere. I have a recipe for Lady and Sons Lasagna that calls for Gruyer cheese.

It was a bus trip and 6 HOURS to get there as it’s south of Zurich. I was able to sleep a little on the bus as we had to get ON the bus at 3;45am. Yuckie!!

We went to the chocolate factory first (photos of the scenery along the way)https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1rlCvTYzOhIEmzd1LIn4QDnoe8TxfvjHn

That’s the factory down below!!

Making out chocolate bars!  We could add anything we wanted. I added raspberry beads nuts and some chili powder (just a dash) into dark chocolate. It was good I have had a bit of it finally.

All these things are chocolate!

Chocolate waterfall!!

It’s fun seeing new plants too!  Not sure what this one is. I looked it up while I was there but now don’t remember - ha!

Then we were off to CHEESE. That was very interesting!

I should have taken a picture of the robot in the isle. It was pulling the cheese out, flipping it and putting it back. They have to flip the cheese daily.

This is a famous artist. His stuff was weird to say the least. And to have it in a castle even weirder.

What a VIEW!

And with that these are all the pictures from the trip. It was a good trip. A long trip, but good.
